I’m loving this Candy Corn Lighted Halloween Tree on Etsy. Available on the KingCharlesbusiness1 shop –which is devoted to “vintage finds and holiday decor”–it puts an autumnal spin on those retro lighted ceramic trees that everyone’s grandmother used to have.
Besides the mid-century ambiance and childhood nostalgia, I like that this item falls into the non-terrifying category of Halloween decorations. Having two young kids makes me want to get more festive during holidays. I’m certainly inspired by my mother-in-law, who whether it’s Christmas, Halloween, Easter or Thanksgiving, likes to decorate the entire house.
Still, I’d like my kids to be able to get up at night and get a drink of water without feeling like they’re living in the Amity House. I’ll be honest. Candy corn itself is a bit to cloyingly sweet for me. I did, however, delight in affixing the kernels to my incisor teeth as a kid in order to look like a vampire.
This item is $37.99, plus shipping. It’s a significant amount, but you’ll be able to plug this tri-colored beauty in year after year.
