Song of the Day: ‘Happy’ by Ned’s Atomic Dustbin

I have to listen to “Happy” by Ned’s Atomic Dustbin at least 20 times a year, just to, in fact, be happy. I always know when I need to play the song on repeat: when I feel overloaded, under-qualified and overwrought. Also, probably dehydrated.

The guitar takes you to unexpected places, on an upbeat heroes’ journey. Lead singer Jonn Penney has friendly voice, exuding a gentle angst making him friend to the disaffected youth of the early ’90s.
