
What kind of mental illness is it when you have songs come unbidden to your brain and then take up semi-permanent residence, emerging from time to time–occasionally ringing ironically true and at other times, through sheer rhythmic dynamism, helping power you through your day?
Because I have it.
I’ll give you a prime example. My song of the day, “Everything Counts” by Depeche Mode, is literally part of my neural architecture. It strikes me at odd times, including now.
