THE PICKUP ARTIST
Bill wore Old Spice, and sometimes Chaps,
so the ladies could all smell him coming.
He had a toothpick clamped in his pearly whites,
but somehow he also was humming
—
a country song about a “heartbreak moon,”
and he kept his engine running.
Most every night Bill made out alright–
he was handsome, well-dressed and, yes, cunning..
He’d set his star on a girl at the bar,
both her face and sad backstory stunning.
He’d say, “Hey, Angel Face, let’s get out of this place.
Pretty girl like you shouldn’t be slumming.”
