[…] Flash fiction: ‘Bea’ […]
‘Bea’ sounds like a fictional version of you in this scenario 😁😆🙌
When you write in the voice of another person in poetry, it’s called a persona poem. When you write a quick description of a person, it’s called a character sketch.
It’s possible to sketch out a personality just by how they speak. That’s why I love dialogue, and like to hear people talk. Some people are people watchers. I’m a people-listener.
When you write in the voice of another person, there is bound to be a little you in there. A shadow side or something you never noticed.
Sometimes writing in a persona allows you to say things you think but aren’t brave enough to say.
In my persona flash fiction and poems, usually titled with a name, some of the voices used and character’s described are just funny. Sometimes they’re deluded and sometimes their surprisingly wise.
When it comes to a gal like ‘Bea,’ she’s just someone I thought up. Fiction writers always have a play going on in their head.
This is the first time I have heard about a persona poem lol. Thanks for taking the time to share this perspective, I am very enlightened by your thoughts 💡💡
I love your ideas and your versatility is unmistakable ☺️☺️✌️
Thank you.
You are welcome Sarah 🫶🤗😇🙏
