Flash Fiction: ‘The First Session’

PSYCHIATRIST
Would you consider yourself a psychologically stable person?

ME
(Speech pressured)
I’ve created a soothing
multiverse in my head
of cute and nostalgic ’80s
characters. Strawberry Shortcake
and friends coexist with
the Carebears, the Baby
Muppets, the Smurfs
and the world of Sanrio!

PSYCHIATRIST
I’d call that a no.
