British people are often satirized as being overly-apologetic–they laugh at themselves over it.
And it’s true. On my X feed, there are countless accounts, especially in clement weather, post pictures of gorgeous, teeming gardens or stunning flower arrangements.
Then they caption it with something self-effacing like, “It’s a bit messy, but it makes me happy.” Another Brit might say, “We didn’t get many allums this year, but I’m pleased with this little square of blooms.”
People of Britain, own your flowers. Be proud of your flowers. Never apologize for your flowers. Keep on doing God’s work.
