“Either” by Tiny Habits is very human, very young, and very irresistible.
There’s nothing like late nights spent with fellow introverts and non-conformists. We’ve all had about those booze- and herb-lubricated hang-fests, where you let go of expectations and start getting real. The schedule is fluid but is sure to include song and dance and expounding on subjects deep and silly.
The listener is pulled in and buoyed by an innocence, an honesty and an optimism that joy and fun are there to be had. The song is light and pretty, with a sweetly empowering message. I like important things said quietly. They say you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
The band engages in three-part harmonies and it’s a great blend, like a really good cup of coffee. One singer, I think it’s Maya Rae, has a thin, clear and direct voice that puts me in mind of Elizabeth Stokes from New Zealand indie rock band The Beths.
Thinking of these two bands simultaneously, I see it’s a two-fer. If you like Tiny Habits, you’ll like The Beths. It’s also evident you’re an INFJ or even an INFP (the latter being the Luna Lovegood of the Myers-Briggs personality indicator).
Let me simplify this roving review. I really like “Either” by Tiny Habits.
