Battlestar Eclectic

Sarah Torribio and her right brain. Music. Musings. Writing. Style.

About eight months ago, I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar. No, I was working as a waitress at a restaurant. There was this girl cook who was an extreme bad-ass in every way. Very edgy, bold, punk rock. Her hair was dyed black AND orange. She had two tattoos of sharks–one of her passions was shark conservation and advocacy.

She’s also one of those women who know with certainty they don’t want kids. She’s “not a breeder,” as they say. Anyhow, at one point, the subject of “Tom and Jerry” came up. Hell, I probably introduced it.

Long story short, I confessed to my co-worker that I never liked to watch “Tom and Jerry” much because they were always fighting. I wanted them to be friends.

I told her I best enjoyed the rare episodes where Tom and Jerry teamed up for a shared endeavor. ‘

Also the cute ones with Jerry’s baby cousin and that little french mouse and that suicidal duckling. Hearing this, she turned to me and asked, “Are you a Cancer?”

She was right. I’d given myself away with those sensitive Cancer vibes. Tell me your astrological anecdotes. As the Ghostbusters say, “We’re ready to believe you.”
