Sarah Torribio and her right brain. Music. Musings. Writing. Style.

What a delightful cover! Stumbling across this has made my day.

Moz’s version of “Back on the Chain Gang” doesn’t top the original, but what could?

I read Morrissey’s autobiography, aptly called “Autobiography,” and I can confirm that imitation is, in this case, most definitely flattery. Morrissey and Chrissie Hynde of Pretenders fame are friends.

I’d better light up my cigarette in its long holder if I’m going to be telling celebrity anecdotes. According to Morrissey’s self-penned tell-all, he was at a bar with Chrissie when the pair were approached by a girl who couldn’t help connecting with the Pretenders frontwoman.

“I can’t believe I’m meeting you,” she gushed, or something like that. “You used to mean a lot to me.”

Hynde’s retort, as reported by Morrissey, is classic tough girl and, given the backhanded nature of her compliment, the fan deserved it.

“I don’t anymore, so f–k off!”
