I love the haunted honkeytonk, lonesome highway feel of this song. Lead singer Tessa Murray’s sweet, breathy voice exudes a detached fatalism that’s reminiscent of Lana del Rey.
As the song wends along, the listener realizes Still Corners’ “The Message” by Still Corners is not a song. It’s a soundtrack.
As much as “The Message” has the aroma of the American west, Still Corners is in fact a band from London. The indie rockers have been around since 2007.
