Excellent, Sarahku. I’m of the belief we can’t really make Haiku in English for several reasons: among them, English is a polysyllabic language, and contractions and diphthongs screw up the syllable count. Calling a 575 poem in English a Haiku, is like thinking diphthongs are chocolate covered panties.
You captured the idea of “Seasonal Impression” in the 3 lines of this haiku incredibly well 👏💙💙.
By the way, this post is new to me and it showed up on your blog as if it was posted just hours ago but it seems like it was originally posted in 2022 — how on earth do you do that?, i’m impressed lol
I’m updating some of my posts from a long time ago to go with the interface I’ve come up with and with the indexing system I’m developing. A lot of times, I have forgotten certain poems even exist, so it’s a revisiting.
I have made a system where you can click through to older and newer posts, one after another. Or, you can choose to read more of the same type of genre.
I have a lot of older poems, but I also write new ones. I’m getting myself organized so all my bite-sized writing comes together as a body of work.
That’s very cool to think about organizing them, it turned out to be a terrific idea and I can relate to forgetting some of our oldies from years back 🤭🤭. I think revisiting is a good move; your poems are so good that they deserve to be seen again and again and again and again hahaa 😄
Thanks, friend.
You are welcome Sarah 🥰
