“Body Paint” by the Arctic Monkeys announces itself with a midi-simple, toy band keyboard riff that is so precariously harmonized the song almost falls off the shelf. Then, lead singer Alex Turner begins to sing with such sophistication, I feel like I’ve been paid a posthumous visit by David Bowie. Of course, the honor is all mine.
The Arctic Monkeys, whom I saw years ago when Coachella was still just barely logistically and financially manageable, is proving to be a band with lasting power.
