Splendid, mellifluous alt-rock. There’s a touch of grunge-era riot grrrl here, like fairy-dusted flannel. And then the guitar goes all Strokes for a moment, all turn-of-the-21st-Century sophistication. This band is something to look out for.
My song of the day is “Out of My Mind” by Black Honey. Wikipedia tells me the indie-rock quartet was formed in Brighton, England in 2014. I’m usually late for the bandwagon, because I’m unpopular and no one tells me anything. I’m on it now, though.
The platinum vocalist/guitarist is named Izzy Baxter Phillips, for those who like to put a name to their rock crush.
