crumpled waves take me further out into the sea
— elancharan gunasekaran
I follow this gentleman, elancharan gunasekaran, religiously. He shares his fragmented thoughts on his WordPress site, which he calls “a repository of experimental haiku & poetry. And those thoughts are inevitably vivid and imaginative and evocative.
They inspire me and fire my brain for writing. After reading a few of his thoughts, part observation and part dream, I’m ready to place my own hands on the pen or home keys. Here’s just a few goodies from elancharan.
- six words later the rain explodes
- the drizzle stops for some honey and wine
- king crow watches as his subjects loot the pier
- dreams of a forest trees and flowers of living fire
- basho’s pond the turtle weeps for the frog
- this body sprawled on a bed of auburn dreams
Concepts and clearly stated emotions are well and good, but I’ll take an imagist every day. If you share my sentiment, I recommend you give this hardworking, dream-mining wordsmith a look.
