Bethany Consentino is a national treasure. There’s an upbeat vibe and a wit to her solo work and music made as part of Best Coast.

It tends to make people, okay, me, underestimate this unique singer/songwriter She’s smart in an approachable way. She’s got a pretty voice that sounds a bit like Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles.

It’s like a punk rocker who’s part of the cheer leading squad. (True story. Bassist Kim Deal of the Pixies was on the squad in high school.)

Also, I wonder if all her stuff has this slight alt-country/’70s Laurel Canyon undertone?
