“Designed to Lose” by Scottish indie band The Twilight Sad has a Joy Division vibe, though it’s got a bit more shoe-gaze buzz and lead singer James Graham has less trapped in the bell jar lack of affect than Ian Curtis.
Pretty good stuff. I’m ready to hear another song by this group, especially since I j just read they partnered with Robert Smith of Cure fame for another new song, “Waiting for the Phone Call.” I’m ready to be impressed.
